  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, egg, oil, and salt.
  2. Using a whisk, beat the ingredients for about 1 minute until well mixed.
  3. Add the sweet cassava starch to the liquid mixture and stir firmly with a spoon for 2–3 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the finely grated Parmesan cheese and continue mixing for another 3 minutes, until the cheese is fully incorporated and the dough is uniform.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes.
  6. Shape the dough into small balls. You don’t need to grease your hands — the dough is soft and only slightly sticky at your fingertips.
  7. Try to keep a consistent size so the cheese breads bake evenly.
  8. Place them on a baking sheet; greasing is not necessary.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden.
  10. (If using a convection oven, reduce the temperature slightly.)
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Ready! Your delicious Pão de Queijo is now perfect to enjoy — warm, soft, and full of flavor!
