Difficulty: Beginner
Cooking Temp: 180  C
Servings: 3
Ingredients
  • 120 g milk
  • 80 g sunflower oil (or any oil of your choice)
  • 1 egg (large - about 60 g)
  • 4 g salt (adjust to taste)
  • 280 g sweet cassava starch (polvilho doce)
  • 250 g Parmesan cheese (grated)
Preparation Method (Instructions)
  1. 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, egg, oil, and salt.
  2. 2
Using a whisk, beat the ingredients for about 1 minute until well mixed.
  3. 3
Add the sweet cassava starch to the liquid mixture and stir firmly with a spoon for 2–3 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. 4
Add the finely grated Parmesan cheese and continue mixing for another 3 minutes, until the cheese is fully incorporated and the dough is uniform.
  5. 5
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes.
  6. 6
Shape the dough into small balls. You don’t need to grease your hands — the dough is soft and only slightly sticky at your fingertips.
  7. 7
Try to keep a consistent size so the cheese breads bake evenly.
  8. 8
Place them on a baking sheet; greasing is not necessary.
  9. 9
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden.
  10. 10
(If using a convection oven, reduce the temperature slightly.)
  11. 11
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  12. 12

Ready! Your delicious Pão de Queijo is now perfect to enjoy — warm, soft, and full of flavor!
